Sports betting has supplanted daily sports news in recent years.

DFS is legal in Nebraska, but there is no official regulation. DraftKings, FanDuel, and other operators all provide it.

Nevada Nevada has historically been one of the more contentious DFS states. DraftKings, FanDuel, and Other Operators all refuse to operate there. A formal gambling license is required for websites like DraftKings and FanDuel to operate in the state after they were first ruled illegal.

To formally legalize and regulate DFS, a bill was put up in 2016, but it never advanced.

Since DFS’s development in 2015–16, New York has been the site of controversies surrounding the industry.

In October 2015, Attorney General Eric Schneider man filed a lawsuit against the DFS owners, which caused them to temporarily leave the state. A bill was approved by the state legislature in 2016.

After that, a state judge decided in 2018 that DFS competitions are against New York’s gambling laws. However, an appeals court decided in March 2022 that daily sports are not gambling.

North Carolina: DraftKings, FanDuel, and other operators all accept players.

There are no formal DFS legislation in North Carolina.

Patrick Morrisey, the attorney general of West Virginia, stated in 2016 that DFS is not illegal there.

Then, in 2017, Morrisey published a ruling declaring that daily sports (DFS) are games of skill rather than chance (i.e., gambling), making them acceptable in the state.

Wisconsin: DraftKings, FanDuel, and other operators all offer their services.

There are no official DFS laws in Wisconsin.
